Mike Daniels is the co-owner of Beacon Consulting, LLC, with over 15 years of experience in the long-term care industry. He has dedicated the majority of his nursing career to the long-term and post-acute care setting, where he has developed deep expertise in the RAI process and clinical reimbursement.

Mike has held a variety of leadership and clinical roles, including Infection Preventionist, Staff Development Coordinator, MDS Coordinator, Regional Clinical Director, and Regional MDS Consultant. These experiences have equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of both the clinical and operational aspects of skilled nursing facilities.

His areas of expertise include MDS coding accuracy, Medicare utilization and compliance, PDPM reimbursement optimization, ICD-10 coding, quality measures, managed care, and staff education and development. Mike is passionate about the integrity and impact of the MDS process and considers it his primary professional focus.

An active member of the American Association of Post-Acute Care Nursing and his local American Academy of Professional Coders chapter, Mike remains committed to staying at the forefront of industry standards and best practices.

Outside of his professional work, Mike is a proud father who enjoys spending time with his wife and seven children, exploring Michigan’s lakes and lighthouses.
